Madman Across The Water

1971 UNI Records stereo LP of Elton John’s Madman Across The Water, presented as a single 33 1/3 RPM vinyl record and identified in the inventory as an All Disc pressing. The sleeve and labels display Stereo 93120, with supplied matrix information reading UNI 93120A 11-18-71 SW 11-18 66. Produced by Gus Dudgeon, the album sits within Elton John’s early-1970s run of expansive piano-rock records built around the John/Taupin songwriting partnership.

The package carries the album’s distinctive textile-inspired design: a dark cloth-like front cover with oversized blue-and-white block lettering, and a back cover arranged like stitched denim, with the track titles divided beneath embroidered-style numerals for sides 1 and 2. Interior images show blue-toned printed pages with lyric panels and photographic portraits, giving the jacket the feel of a period art object rather than a plain sleeve.

Condition is graded Very Good for both the vinyl and outer sleeve. The jacket shows light handling and edge wear consistent with age, and the inner booklet is noted as torn. The black vinyl shows glossy surfaces in the photos, with UNI’s yellow rainbow center labels visible on both sides. A collectible 1971 UNI copy of Madman Across The Water, preserving much of the album’s original visual drama and period presentation.
