The Grand Illusion

1977 A&M Records single LP of Styx’s The Grand Illusion, catalog SP-4637, produced by Styx and issued here as a sealed, unverified pressing with a CRC notation on the back cover. The album remains in shrink wrap, with the record and outer sleeve recorded in the Mint/Near Mint range; because it is sealed, matrix and pressing specifics have not been visually confirmed.

The front jacket presents the album’s theatrical green-and-gold design: a metallic STYX logo above a surreal face or mask fragmented by vertical tree trunks, set within a forest-like frame. The back cover continues the illusion with the band members placed between trees, small gold credit text, and the visible song listing arranged at the lower corners, including “The Grand Illusion,” “Fooling Yourself,” “Come Sail Away,” “Miss America,” “Man in the Wilderness,” “Castle Walls,” and “The Grand Finale.”
