Young Americans

1975 RCA Victor single-LP issue of David Bowie’s Young Americans, catalog AFL1-0998, offered here as a sealed likely early reissue/repress with an estimated 1976 date. It is not represented as a first pressing, but retains the period RCA Victor presentation and the original 33 1/3 LP format.

The front jacket shows the close-cropped Bowie portrait set into a black border, with stylized Young Americans/David Bowie lettering and “AFL1-0998 STEREO” printed at the upper right. The shrink remains in place, including a small yellow retail sticker on the front; light edge and corner rubbing is visible at the wrap and jacket perimeter, while the sleeve and record are cataloged mint to near mint.

The back cover is a spare black field with pink credits arranged under “Personnel,” “Studios and Operators,” “Acknowledgments,” and “Times of Songs,” with RCA and MainMan logos at the lower corners and “Printed in U.S.A.” text along the bottom. Visible credits and track information place the sessions across Sigma Sound Philadelphia, Electric Lady N.Y., Record Plant N.Y., and Sound House London, with contributors including Carlos Alomar, John Lennon, Luther Vandross, Tony Visconti, and Harry Maslin—an apt document of Bowie’s mid-1970s studio circle and one of his defining RCA-era transformations.
